How we use AI
From the to-do list to the it's-done list
Almost everyone has a box of recipe cards, a stained cookbook or a grandmother's handwriting they've meant to save "someday." AI is what lets this site make someday today.
Reading your recipe
Send a photo of a recipe card, a page from an old cookbook, a PDF or a web address. AI reads it, handwriting and all, and pulls out everything on it: the title, the ingredients and amounts, each step, the oven temperature and time, and the notes in the margins, like "double the cinnamon" or "Mom's favorite." It types them up as a clean recipe you can search, scale up or down, and print as a card or in a book.
A picture of the dish
Most old recipes never had a photo. AI makes one for each recipe in the style you choose, from a cozy kitchen table to a style you create from your own photo. These pictures show what the dish might look like; they aren't photos of the real thing, and you can always use your own photo instead.
Preserved and shared
Historical and handwritten recipes are easy to lose and hard to share. Once they're captured here, they're safe, searchable and easy to pass along to family and friends, while the photo of the original card stays with the recipe's story, in the handwriting of the person who wrote it.
You stay in charge
- AI can misread a smudged word or a faded number, so every recipe can be checked and edited with Edit recipe.
- You decide who sees each recipe and its story with Who sees it.
- The photos and text you upload are processed only to type up your recipe and make its picture. See our Privacy Policy.
